Those looking for views of Virginia's fall colors may now call a Shenandoah National Park's fall foliage hot line for updates on the seasonal display.
Officials say the park's peak color should come between the second and third week of October. And those drive along the park's 105-mile-long Skyline Drive to see the changing leaves should come earlier in the expected peak period.
But those hoping for dazzling colors this fall may be disappointed.
Expert Russ MacFarlane is expecting little leaf color other than brown this season. He says trees are dropping their leaves early because of the drought.
