Defense Says Jackson Killed Himself With Drugs

A lawyer for the doctor charged in Michael Jackson's death says the singer caused his own death.

Defense attorney Ed Chernoff told jurors Tuesday hearing the
involuntary manslaughter case against Dr. Conrad Murray that
Jackson swallowed several lorazepam pills on the morning of his
death and that was enough to put people to sleep.

He claimed Jackson also self-ingested the anesthetic propofol.

He says Jackson created a "perfect storm in his body" that killed him instantly.

He also told jurors their job is not to determine whether the physician is a good doctor or not.

Chernoff's remarks came after more than an hour of opening statements by prosecutors who laid out their case against the
Houston-based cardiologist.
