The Big Blue Botics are making a return trip to the Virginia Regional Robotics competition in Richmond.
The Harrisonburg High School team finished 17th of 64 teams last year and was awarded the rookie inspiration award.
The competition requires teams to build a robot compete in a particular set of tasks.
The competition will take place in April at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
This year's Big Blue Botics team has 14 members.
One member says the competition is about more than just building robots.
"I've also learned about my teammates and how to work with people I don't necessarily get along with all the time and how to overcome differences," says Samantha Swayne, a Harrisonburg High senior and second year veteran with the team.
