HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Theaters nationwide are hurting.

Yahoo reports Americans on average went to about five movies in 2013; however, Michael Weaver, the general manager at Harrisonburg's Court Square Theater, said he's seen a big increase in business showing movies that don't make to bigger theaters.

"It is challenging to go up against companies like Netflix, which make viewing movies at home much easier, but we're trying to fulfill a niche of award winning, important films," said Weaver.

The theater extended its run of "Inside Llewyn Davis" after hundreds of people came to see it this weekend.
