HARRISONBURG -- James Madison University is competing to be a top “adventure college” in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. It's an online competition and there's still time to vote.

Guy Debrun is the assistant director of the adventure program at JMU. He said he's excited the college is a part of this competition. Because JMU is located between the Shenandoah National Park and the George Washington National Forest, Debrun said the school has a lot of outdoor activities.

So far, he's been voting online every day for JMU and he said right now, the chances of winning look good.

"Right now we have 70 percent of the vote against University of Richmond. Then we'll be coming up against some of the smaller schools, so we obviously have an advantage, a size advantage there, so I think we have a good chance to make a good run in this little tournament they put together," said Debrun.
