PA City Changes Name to Spurlock Movie Title

The central Pennsylvania city of Altoona has officially ceased to
exist.

It's not been wiped from the map. It's just been renamed after the latest movie by Morgan Spurlock.

The movie and the town are now both known as "POM Wonderful: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold."

Spurlock participated in the renaming ceremonies in the city 85 miles east of Pittsburgh. On Wednesday night he'll appear at a premiere of the movie.

He's also appearing around the city in a suit emblazoned with sponsors' logos to lampoon the movie's point about the proliferation of advertising.

Spurlock is also donating $25,000 to local police for the right to rename the city for the next 60 days.

Spurlock, a Beckley, West Virginia, native, became a national success with his documentary "Super Size Me."
