STAUNTON -- A unique art exhibit was at Staunton Augusta Art Center on Monday night.
Art students had sculptures on display made out of trash found in streams and rivers around Staunton.
A class of Mary Baldwin students made the pieces out of reused trash.
A silent auction for the art was held to benefit the Friends of the Middle River.
“I'm trying to encourage people to recognize potential in this material and to sort of help legions of new artists incorporate sustainability to their practices,” said Mary Baldwin Visiting Artist Aurora Robson.
The art students hosted a reception at the art center.
