In the General Assembly, committees have been assigned and more work begins Thursday.
Our two senators from the Valley are both chairman of their committees. Senator Emmett Hangar will chair the Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources Committee. Senator Mark Obenshain will chair the Privileges and Education Committee.
In the General Assembly, they have 2,000 to sort through. There will probably be 1,000 more by the end of next week.
Delegate Ben Cline says he's introducing a bill that would allow small farm trucks to use farm usage tags.
He also has legislation to keep county extension offices open and funded through the state.
Private property rights is something each lawmaker from the Valley has on their agenda.
They say private property should not be taken away for public use.
"We need to put it in the constitution to make sure the law can't be changed from year to year," says Cline.
