This is just plain sad. How can the state take tax dollers from all but only let some use it. Home schoolers get NO tax break of anny kind the families come out of pocket for everything (not complaining) but shouldn't they have acsess to use the tax money that is spent on PUBLIC schools? If the child can comply with the same accademic rules, why not let them play? People need to stop thinking home schoolers are shelterd unsocial crazy people. They are just families trying to teach there children in a way that works best for them as a family.

It's their choice when they home school. If you don't go to a public school , then you have no right playing with the public school sport. They can make your own organization. Very happy this bill died.

I'm so glad this bill did not pass. That is a great benefit to being n the public schools. It's not just about just playing the sport & learning.....it is about working together as team and deal with each other everyday. Friends working together & growing a bond!

Absolutely, that's what is great about public school! All different kind of people working and getting along together.

This bill has been presented to three different General Assemblies. It has failed three times in a row. It should not be allowed to keep coming up until it eventually passes. The homeschool sports lobby should be allowed to further waste the General Assembly's time.

You're kidding me. Really? I hope the homeschoolers refuse to pay the percentage of taxes they currently pay for these so-called public schools. What does the word "Public" mean? Oh, I forgot, they only teach left wing nut job socialism these days instead of reading, writing, and arithmatic.

With an attitude like you have, I am certainly glad that Rockingham County allows home schooling.
