I should think the Virginia legislature could better spend it time than by poking into the private lives of its citizens. These men are elected to solve problems - improve pubic education, build roads, and improve opportunities for employment in Virginia. Meddling in people's private lives is an effort by small-minded politicians who seek votes from small-minded people who have little better to do than mind other people's business. It is this kind of silliness that makes educated people long for enlightened despotism - rule by an intelligent monarch who understands the mission of the state and who does not engage in frivolous legislation that is intended only to place additional burdens on people.
