Sharon Dove is noted as a role model in her field, using innovation and creativity to keep her students educated.
For the month of April, WHSV TV-3 honors Dove as the Golden Apple award winner.
"She's not just a quality teacher, she's a quality person," said Dewie Arey. Her children were taught by Dove, for years, at Ren's House.
As a teacher, Arey knows all about learning standards and what children need to know. She believes Dove exceeds those expectations.
"What makes her so incredibly amazing and a powerful instructor is that she never stops learning herself," said Arey.
Golden apple nominations say Miss Sharon, as she's known, is a role model to her colleagues and to her students.
Dove brings what's learned, to life, as students learn about "Teddy the Tadpole" and the little chick, hatched from eggs, under their care.
"Knowing that I'm instilling a love of learning and helping to build a strong foundation for later success is just very rewarding," said Dove. She continues, "Everyday is fun and exciting with new experiences for them. I get to enjoy that enthusiasm right along with them everyday."
