There is an experiment with mice that researchers say will give new hope to the blind.
U.S. and British scientists say they've restored sight to blind mice. They did it by transplanting light-sensitive cells into their eyes.
Previous studies using stem cells didn't work, so the scientists used cells in a later stage of development.
Some of the mice suffered damage from macular degeneration. That's the leading cause of blindness in the elderly.
