A new report by a Fairfax County commission says the county needs to find ways to boost federal and private funding for mental health services.
The report released Friday by the Josiah H. Beeman Commission says Fairfax lags behind the rest of the state in enrolling its mentally ill population in Medicaid.
About a third of the mentally ill adults receiving help from the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board are enrolled in Medicaid, compared with 50 percent statewide.
Among other things, the report recommends creating a regional foundation to help mental health services.
