People looking for a fun workout now have one more option in Staunton. A new bike trail has been created at Montgomery Hall Park.

Sixteen-year-old Patrick Mckeegan made the new trail as an Eagle Scout project with the help from members of the Queen City Cycle Club. Mckeegan enjoyed the old trail, but wanted a longer option to stay fit and have fun at the same time.

He says, "The new trail is about a mile and a half long. It has a few technical parts for the more advanced cyclist, but it also has easy parts so anyone can ride it. It's open to anyone who wants to take the time to come up here. The more people up here the better."

Mckeegan, Boy Scouts, and members of the Queen City Cycling Club in Staunton will be maintaining the trail throughout the year. During the winter, they plan to build more trails.
