Manchin and AARP Team Up

The Governor's Summit on Aging is underway in Charleston, West Virginia.

This year, Gov. Joe Manchin teamed up with AARP to make an important announcement.

A new program in the Mountaineer State will help low-income, older individuals remain financially independent.

It will teach people 50 and older financial management ranging from how to balance a checkbook to understanding the interest rate.

Manchin says he is pleased to be a part of this program.

AARP officials hope this new program will eventually serve as a model for the entire country.
