According to the American Cancer Society, there are more than 60,000 new cases a year.
And it kills one American every hour.
While this deadly form of skin cancer most often occurs in whites, doctors say more and more African Americans, Latinos and Asians, are getting it.
Doctors suggestion checking your body for moles that change color, shape or texture.
And pay close attention to parts that don't usually see the sun like your palms, soles, in between your finders and toes.
And they say early detection is key.
