Registered Dietician Ellie Krieger says you may want to sit down with relatives and tell them you don't want to overeat, "Just say I love you, I love your food, I'm just going to have a little this holiday because I'm trying to do this for my body, to be healthier."
She also says there's no need to deprive yourself of a holiday treat or specialty item, but eat just a little. She suggests using a small plate and a tall thin glass to make it look like you're getting a bigger helping of food.
