Things have returned to normal at the University of Virginia Medical Center after two staff members tested positive for the H1N1 influenza virus.
Hospital officials say, once the diagnosis came back, they immediately began alerting UVA students and staff by sending out a mass e-mail. They also contacted local health departments.
UVA officials say this outbreak was something they had been preparing for since April.
Dr. Jonathon Truwit, UVA Hospital, says, "We knew this was coming. I know of cases throughout the country occurring. And our experts and infectious disease and our multi-disciplinary team have really been preparing too for both prevention and control. So we've been preparing for several months since really April when the news broke."
Hospital officials say both employees suffered mild cases of the virus and were successfully treated.
