Winchester has it's first cases of the H1N1 influenza virus, also known as swine flu.

Five cases were confirmed in the Lord Fairfax Health District over the weekend.

Most of the confirmed cases involve people under the age of 18.

The Central Shenandoah Health District has 14 confirmed cases.

There are currently 249 cases reported in Virginia and more than 18,000 in the United States.
