The government is cracking down on marketers of four weight-control pills.
The companies have agreed to pay at least 25 million dollars to settle charges of deceptive marketing.
The Federal Trade Commission says the marketers of Xenadrine EFX, Cortislim, Trimspa and One-a-Day Weightsmart made weight loss and weight control claims that were not supported by reliable scientific evidence.
The marketers making these claims are not admitting guilt, but have agreed to stop what the FTC says are "misrepresentations."
