The Central Shenandoah Health District has begun using online technology and social networking in an effort to connect with young people in the area.

CSHD is now using the social networking site, Facebook, and other online technologies to inform young people about the services the local health department provides and to create an open line of communication with the community.

On the page, there are links to information regarding topics ranging from pediatric dental services to an online survey asking people for their opinions on the 2009 H1N1 pandemic.

The CSHD hopes that this tool will grow to become a valuable bridge between local health departments within the district and the community members they serve.
