Augusta Health cut the ribbon on a new convenient care clinic inside the Waynesboro Walmart on Friday.
The new clinic will have expanded hours on weeknights and weekends and appointments are not required.
Medical Director Dr. David Fosnocht says, "After the workday [patients] could still make it in here to be seen and then on weekends as well have access to urgent care when they weren't able to access their primary care physician."
The convenient care clinic will treat common illnesses and offer routine services like flu shots.
The new clinic in Waynesboro is just the latest in an aggressive expansion effort by Augusta Health.
A similar clinic was opened in the Staunton Walmart in July. That's in addition to a family practice in Churchville that opened in June and an Urgent Care facility in Weyers Cave that opened last Fall.
CEO Mary Mannix says, "Now it's time to look past the campus of Fishersville and into our community and make sure we have adequate access points or points of service for people to be able to access the care that they need right in their hometown neighborhoods."
