Rockingham Memorial Hospital has been awarded for reducing health care's environmental impact on communities.
The hospital is one of 13 health care organizations to receive this honor from VHA Inc., a national health care network.
It is given to hospitals that develop and implement sustainability programs.
RMH is credited with successfully accomplishing this goal in a cohesive manner among the entire staff. It is the only hospital in Virginia to receive this honor.
