WAYNESBORO -- Representatives from the USDA and the Valley's farmers' markets met on Wednesday to talk about how to best serve people in rural Virginia.
The USDA has launched a program it's calling “the strike-force.” Its goal is to reach people who need better nurtition in rural areas.
Farmers market managers also launched an association today to support the state's farmers markets.
Valley farmers' market managers accepted applications from farmers who want to accept snap benefits.
Those benefits offer nutritional help to low-income families.
