Good News Could Be on the Way for Cyclers in Staunton

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV)-- The recommendations include having more shared bike lanes, educating educating drivers on biker awareness, and encouraging more people to bike and walk to school.

Lots of people think this would draw more people to bike around the city and thinks it's better for the environment.
others think it would cause traffic problems.

"It gets you aggravated especially when you're trying to go somewhere and you got a certain time to get there and you got a bunch of people riding bikes. If a driver on the road is an aggressive driver and the traffic starts backing up then I'm afraid someone will end up getting hurt," said Robert Cason, who lives in Staunton.

City council will vote consider the recommendations on Thursday, July 10.
