Staunton Food Bank Kicks Off Hunger Action Month

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV)-- The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is kicking off Hunger Action Month in our area. The food bank will be holding events this month to encourage people to donate.

About 49 million people across the country are struggling with hunger.
People at the food bank say it makes them upset that the need is so high in our area.

"It's really sad to me and it's also an unnecessary problem. I think when we all come together, we can definitely provide assistance to people, our neighbors in need. It's something we can all play a part in solving," said Ruth Jones, who works at the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
