HARRISONBURG, Va .-- Virginia State Lottery organizers have confirmed that a winning ticket from Wednesday night's Powerball was sold in Harrisonburg.
Five numbers matched the sequence, and a lucky someone is now the winner of $1,000,000.
The ticket was sold at Mr. B's Welcome Center on North Valley Pike.
The owner, Aecha Lim, has owned the store for 13 years. She said her customers are very loyal, and she has grown to know many of them over the years. "I pray to God, whoever buys the ticket that they win the bigger number, and every ticket we sold, we told them good luck to each one of them," said Lim.
Lim said a representative from the Lottery Commission told her on Thursday morning that someone bought a ticket from the store. She was very excited, and called the store lucky. She said she's not sure if she gets any money for selling the ticket. The store had never had a big winner before Wednesday.
As of Friday morning, the winner has not come forward yet.
Wednesday night's winning numbers were 5-23-16-22-29 and the Powerball was 6.
