It's back to school time for many kids in the area, but a new school year means a lot of new issues for administrators.
The superintendents from Waynesboro, Staunton and Augusta County, along with a representative from a private school, met Wednesday morning to discuss issues each school system faces in the upcoming year.
Topics such as budget reduction, single parenting, free school lunches and an increase in the number of students attending school will be discussed.
This is the fifth time the Augusta County Chamber of Commerce has discussed such issues at the school system breakfast.
Chamber of commerce officials believe this breakfast helps the school systems recognize and coordinate on how to deal with problems.
Linda Hershey, with the Augusta County Chamber of Commerce, says, "Community support is huge this year. There is an influx of foreign students. We have a lot of poor students in the area. We also have a lot of single parent students."
