Maryland environmental officials want to hear from the public about the state's Chesapeake Bay restoration plan.
The Department of the Environment has scheduled four hearings on the plan that was submitted Wednesday.
The hearings are September 27 at South Hagerstown High School; September 30 at the Talbot County Community Center; October 4 at the Maryland State Fair Grounds and October 6 at the Prince George's County Soil Conservation District office in Upper Marlboro.
Wednesday was the deadline for the six bay watershed states to deliver plans to the federal Environmental Protection Agency for meeting goals under a restoration strategy ordered by President Barack Obama.
The environmental group Environment Maryland says the plan should be more detailed, but is headed in the right direction.
