Four Winchester firefighters suffered minor injuries after fighting a fire at a warehouse early Saturday morning.

The fire occurred in the 700 block of North Kent Street at Pacific Elastomers Co. Incorporated.

"During the fire we had a large explosion in the rear and we had four firefighters who suffered effects of some of the fallout from the fire, " says Chief Scott Cullers of the Winchester Fire Department. "They were in completely in self-contained breathing apparatus and their protective clothing, but we transported four of them to Winchester Medical Center for observation and treatment."

The three-alarm fire took about three hours to be brought under control. Fire units from Frederick and Clarke counties were brought in to assist.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation

WHSV Poll
A committee in the House of Delegates has sent a bill to the House floor that would allow private, faith-based adoption agencies to discriminate against prospective parents based on their sexual orientation. Would you support this?

Yes, I think if it is a private organization it's okay.
No, there should be no discrimination.
It should depend on a case by case basis.
