The Brookhaven Women's Health and Natural Birth Center held its grand opening Monday.

Families were given tours of the new facility, located right next to the new Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Officials from RMH originally expressed concern over the new facility, because it doesn't have a formal agreement with the hospital for emergency or patient care.

However, Misty Ward from the birth center says they have recently met to resolve the issue.

Ward says, "I think a lot of it was misunderstanding and miscommunication on everyone's part. I think that hopefully things are looking up."

The hospital is asking the birth center to provide a minimum amount of information to patients they plan to take in from RMH.
