On Wednesday evening, an organization called Preserve will hold a community meeting to discuss the results from the study done about incorporating the community into a town.
The study, released earlier this year, says incorporating would open up funding options from the county, state and federal government that are not currently available.
If Massanutten were to incorporate, it would cover 12 square miles and would have a population of roughly 3,000 people.
That's larger than many of the seven towns already incorporated in Rockingham County.
A spokesman for Preserve says, "The incorporation should not be done in haste. It is a serious matter and requires a lot of deliberation and consideration by its citizens. Preserve wanted to remain objective until presenting the study to allow people to make up their own minds on the matter."
The meeting will take place Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Massanutten Le Club Recreation Center.
