Malvo Calls Victim's Daughter

A woman whose father was killed more than five years ago by convicted snipers John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo says it doesn't matter why Malvo called her last month to apologize.

Cheryll Witz's father, Jerry Taylor, was killed in March 2002, in Arizona. It was a precursor to a killing spree that terrorized Virginia, Maryland and the Washington, D.C. area in October of that year.

Witz said today on ABC's "Good Morning America" that while it's likely Malvo apologized to ease his own conscience, she's glad that he made the gesture.

Witz has tried for years to learn more about the circumstances of her father's death, and at one point even wrote to Malvo urging him to divulge what he knew.

She told ABC that Malvo's call gave her closure. Malvo is serving life without parole. Muhammad is on Virginia's death row.
