The family of a student pilot killed in McGaheysville is suing the flight school.
Michael Martirosov and flight instructor Angelo Michael were killed when their plane went down last August.
The NTSB's final report says Angelo Michael went into an unnecessary spin and was unable to recover.
Other students say they also performed spins with Michael, although he was not authorized to do so.
Now Martirosov's family is suing the flight school, Shenandoah Flight Services, for more than $1.6 million.
The suit claims that flight instructor Michael, “carelessly, recklessly and with wanton and willful disregard, flew the aircraft so that it crashed."
