Bush versus Kerry. One political view against another. But has it made a difference to you?
"I thought both candidates did well. I thought Bush started out strong, and I think Kerry did well the whole time, but Bush started to get a little weak at the end," Matt Moore, Harrisonburg resident.
"Certainly, Kerry. I think he handled himself fabulously. I think he made points all around and he backed them up. He had wonderful things to the table and handled himself well," Patricia Demitery, Harrisonburg resident.
"Bush, because he knows what he's doing and gets it done," Sherrie Warner, Harrisonburg resident.
"I'm not sure there was a clear winner, but I think Kerry really helped himself immensely in the debate last night better than he has the whole campaign," Jean Ruff, Harrisonburg resident.
Dr. Robery Roberts, political science professor at JMU, says there seemed to be no clear winner.
"So substantively, it's a draw. No one made any major mistakes. But stylistically it wasn't a draw, and in terms of the momentum in the race, that is significant for Kerry," said Roberts.
Now it's time to prepare for round two.
