An early morning crash on Route 42 in Buffalo Gap killed an 18-year-old Staunton woman.
State police say Brittany Engleman of Staunton was ejected from the car and died at the scene of the crash. She was not wearing a seat belt.
They say she was a passenger in a car driven by 22-year-old Cory Nicholas Beasley, also of Staunton.
Beasley, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated and released from RMH.
There was a second vehicle involved in the accident, but no information on that vehicle has been released at this time.
State police are investigating the crash because they suspect it was a race between the two vehicles. They are also looking into whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
