The state delegate race is heating up over a controversial issue, especially after Delegate Matt Lohr sent out a flier asking to halt illegal immigration.
The flier went out to likely voters, and it gave Lohr's stance on illegal immigration. Lohr says he supports removing incentives for illegal immigrants and wants to strengthen laws against those who commit crimes. Challenger Carolyn Frank says this flier is just giving voters false promises.
"But our country was founded as a country laws, and we need to make sure that we're encouraging people to come to this country legally, and by providing services to illegal immigrants, we're rewarding those who broke the law and who cheated," says Matt Lohr.
"The only thing that we can do as a local body and a general assembly is basically deal with the issues of illegal immigration. We cannot halt illegal immigration," says Carolyn Frank, the 26th District candidate for Delegate.
The election is in less than two weeks.
