An inspirational speaker and national spokesperson on sexual abuse and assault spent Wednesday morning on a local college campus raising awareness.

Nicole Bromley spoke at Eastern Mennonite University's Lehman Auditorium. She is the author of "Hush", a book about her experiences.

More than 100 students gathered to listen to the Ohio-native's story. Bromley says she has received a tremendous amount of feedback from all over the world.

"A lot of people have found their voice for the first time because of reading my book," Bromley said. "I get e-mails not only from America now, but I got a e-mails last week from Bolivia, Australia and the United Kingdom. It's amazing that there are places where I'll never be able to speak that my book is reaching."

Bromley says she was sexually assaulted for nearly a decade of her childhood.

I heard your testimony on the James Robison show. I could not help but think about myself and the four times in my life of sexual abuse and how the Lord spared my life in each case. I truly admire your courage about writing your story and allowing to be transparent enough to share your experience for the others to be healed. I have not come forward as you have, but I know God is using you for such a time as this. I am not ashamed and I am a survivor. I am just concerned about the Black women coming forward. I wonder have you had response from all races or do you just reach out to the colleges? I guess it makes a difference about age also. I am 53 yrs. old and I have shared my experience with some and have done some volunteer work at the Rape Crisis Center for about four years. I know you never thought that you would go national around the world just for sharing your testimony. There are so many that need help and are just now coming forward after years of shame. Thanks GBY .
