So how are those in the U.S. from other countries celebrating Thanksgiving?
EMU student Ilir Cela is from Albania. He will spend the holiday at his host family's house. He says he doesn't know all the history of the holiday, but he says he has a lot to be thankful for.
Fellow EMU students Selam Hussein from Ethopia will also be at his host family’s house. He says his first Thanksgiving in the U.S. was the most memorable.
"My host mom, she brought gravy I didn't know what gravy was I thought it was soup," says Ilir Cela.
"We give thanks for everything we got and don’t take it for granted," says Selam Hussein.
Both young men say they are looking forward to the Thanksgiving feast.
