DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (AP) -- Need Help with cooking your Thanksgiving Turkey? Talk turkey with the folks at the turkey hotline.
Cooks who have questions about how to prepare the seasonal feast
have long been able to call help lines, offered by turkey producers, schools and others looking to provide answers. Marge Klindera of the Butter Ball Turkey Hotline says one man called with his own solution to a problem. She says when his bird was too big for his pan, he wrapped the turkey in a towel, stepped on it to break a few bones, and then it fit quite nicely.
The government has a turkey hotline that's run by the Agriculture Department. Kathy Bernard, who works with the hotline, says last year a woman who didn't have a roasting bag used a dry cleaning bag off her husband's suit, and it melted onto the bird.
