Road
Approval has been given for a contract to complete the loop road, Route 262, around Staunton.
The new project will extend the loop four point four three miles from Route 252 to Route 250, where it will also connect with Route 275.
Completion will include noise walls, retaining walls, bridges and landscaping.
The first section of the road opened November 21, 2000 and connects Route 11 south of Staunton to Route 252, Middlebrook Avenue.
The road is estimated to cost $23 million and be complete by Dec. 1, 2005.
