The citizens of Waynesboro will be getting a new fire station, which will be built on the west end of the city.

Fifty-seven percent of voters passed the item Tuesday, and it will cost the city $2.6 million.

The 8,000 square foot facility will be built in order to improve response time to the west end of the city, which has seen an explosion of growth in recent years.
