Virginia farmers are hoping you'll keep agriculture on your plate.
A new license plate promoting Virginia farms is on display at this year's farm bureau convention. The design offers drivers a bit of history on the commonwealth's agri-business.
DMV officials hope to start offering the design soon, but they need at least 350 people to sign up before the plate can be issued.
"This license plate is just promoting agriculture and an awareness for other Virginians that agriculture is a huge part of Virginia's economy," says Mark Campbell with the Virginia Farm Bureau.
The plate will also act as a fundraiser. Part of the money raised from sales of the tag will fund programs sponsored by the Farm Bureau.
