Homeless Awareness

Future Farmers of America students spent the night in boxes for homelessness awareness Friday.

They braved rainy conditions with nothing but the boxes for shelter.

It took place at Pence Elementary School in Dayton. School organizers and parents are hoping the children that participate learned to be thankful for what they have and to realize what so many others don't have.

Mike Long says, "They are simulating what a homeless person would go through in the night time, and they will be sleeping in boxes, cardboard boxes."

This is the second year the school has held the event.
