With the governor set to make more budget cuts next week, state agencies are looking at where they can make cuts if they have to.
Last week, Western State Hospital sent employees a letter discussing a voluntary layoff program. It would allow some employees to improve their retirement package.
But would a possible layoff decrease patient care?
"Until the governor speaks and we know what we are looking at, I don't want to get into that," said John Beghtol director of community services.
Gov. Warner will announce on Oct. 15 what he will cut from the budget.
