A friend of Clara Schwartz testified Tuesday that Schwartz wanted her father dead and talked about a large inheritance she expected to receive.
Katherine Inglis of Haymarket agreed to become a prosecution witness after she was accused of conspiracy in the plot to kill Robert Schwartz. The prominent biophysicist was stabbed to death with a sword last December at his Loudoun County home.
Clara, who is 22 years old, was attending classes at James Madison University when her father was killed. Her attorneys argue that her comments to friends about killing her father were part of a fantasy game.
But prosecutors say she persuaded 19-year-old Kyle Hulbert of Millersville, Maryland to kill her father. They say Hulbert claimed that Clara told him her father abused her. Hulbert goes to trial in March.
