Wednesday night the Augusta County Supervisors voted 6-0 in favor of purchasing ramps and equipment for the area's first skate park. And the best part? Officials say it will be here before you know it.
"Delivery should be here between 30-60 days,” comments Morris Peltz of the Staunton/Augusta YMCA.
Because of a joint effort between the County Recreation department and the Stn./Aug. YMCA, the new mobile skate park will include street and vert ramps, along with a half pipe that will be moved district to district throughout the county.
It will be used 45 days a year. The total cost of buying all the supplies need to get the project off the ground will be $20,000.
