Police officers swarmed into Staunton's Lowe's parking lot Monday afternoon and into the nearby woods. They say they were searching for a man for whom they had six outstanding warrants.

There was a lot of police activity along Richmond Road and around the Staunton Lowe's Monday. Police say they got a call from First Bank and Trust along Richmond Road that a man, Ted Campbell, who's been forging checks, was in the drive-thru lane. Once police came after him, he took off, running through the bank, up a hill, and into Lowe's. Police say he went out the back of Lowe's. Police then searched the nearby woods.

Campbell remained on the loose for a few hours but was caught late Monday afternoon along West Beverley Street. Campbell was wanted for three counts of forgery and three counts of uttering.
