Fishersville residents still do not know if an extreme sports park will be moving into their area.

The Augusta County Zoning Board tabled the park idea for 90 days after a sound test Thursday morning.

Terry Argenbright wanted to prove that his plan to put in an extreme sports park won't bother neighbors across the highway at a sound check with 24 bikes.

Residents couldn't hear anything. At a zoning board meeting Thursday afternoon, residents say that isn't good enough.

"We had our folks over there. They were not racing at full speed. They had people in the area, completely surrounding the people on the bikes telling them to hold it down," says Buddy Rittenhouse, President of the Neighborhood Association.

Argenbright says bikes just aren't as loud as they used to be and that they set up test conditions to be loud.

"We kept the bikes all together, and in a race, they're never together. Except at the starting gates, you normally don't see two bikes side by side," says Argenbright.

Rittenhouse says his argument against the track isn't just about the possible noise.

He says, "We could see a significant reduction in property value if the motor cross track goes in."

Whatever the board ends up voting, both side say they're not giving up.

"This is the most threatening thing we've ever had happen in the Fishersville area and we're going to fight this,' says Rittenhouse.

Argenbright says, "I'm not the kind of guy that gives up on our children. I'll leave it at that, I do not give up."

The board tabled the issue so they can research other Moto-track court cases.

Glad Augusta came to its senses. Sorry, Donna, but King William will do the same.

Sounds as if Expoland is fighting the same extremist we are in King William VA. see nokwmotocross.googlepages.com It is a shame the oppostion is so selfish with their views, they never stopped to consider the families involved with motocross.

Do people ever wonder why people leave the area,it's because of the bad apples that are afraid of change.Augusta Expoland has area to have some of the greatest events in Va. I have 2 sons that race motocross and we travel 2 five different states to race. It would be great to come back home to race and to have our families have the chance to watch without traveling 5 hours. My children live 2 race, their grades have even come up since the season started. This would be a great thing but as usual in Augusta County there is someone to oppose because they have nothing to gain!Open your eyes and close your mouth and ears for once and give the motocross a chance, you might be surprized at what you see!It is amazing to see what these young kids can do on these bikes.GOOD LUCK WITH THE TRACK,AND DON'T FORGET EXPOLAND WAS THERE FIRST!!
