Don't be surprised if your five-year old tells you to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.
After all, they are the experts, at least after taking the fire-safety program provided by Augusta County Fire-Rescue.
"I have parents who will see me out and say well I have to check my smoke detector every month because of what you said to my child," said Minday Craun, Volunteer Coordinator for Augusta County Fire-Rescue.
The program has now reached ten local elementary schools, and the kids are really learning fast.
"And they remember and retain the information. By the end of the school year they can tell me about everything that we've talked about."
Craun hopes the class will help make fire safety a part of these kids daily lives.
